Hello all!

Sorry I haven't updated this in so long, but life has gotten in the way...again.

I have recently discovered that Vista Print has changed things on my website, so the domain name has changed, as well as the layout. I'm not happy about that but, regardless, I've updated the above link. Now all of my printed, marketing material is out of date. UGH!

Thus, I have a lot to do to prepare for the 2020 CCAA Artfest in LaPlata, Maryland in June...and none of it will include getting another book finished and printed in time.

I will need to set aside time to write this new link information on some my business cards, which BTW, were just recently ordered.

Hello All.

I'm finally getting around to posting something.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas/New Year's Eve.

I've still been busy with home projects and helping parents and father-in-law. Also, this year, I had to deal with signing up for Medicare and Social Security.

Currently working on two new stories. 

The 5th and final book on Janie's Got series is in the works, as well. 

Beautiful Soul is about what some people will do when blessed with a financial windfall. It's in their soul to be caring and sharing.

Going to be Murder will be a romance/murder story. Two Mystery Shoppers discover the body of a friend. One has her eye on the sexy deputy; the other, has her eye on the smart and good-looking veterinarian. They both have their eyes on a dead body.

I will be attending the annual Artfest in LaPlata, Maryland on June 8. I don't expect these books to be done by that time; however, I will have post cards to hand out.

2018 is coming to a close

Good Day Happy Readers.

I know it's been a long while since I posted anything.

In truth, I haven't been doing any writing. I'm still working on home projects, crochet projects, and dog training/vet visits. I've also been doing a lot of reading, hoping to hone up my skills.

One other thing that has occupied a lot of time has been trying to help my mother understand and navigate her aunt's estate and what will happen. She is not the executor, but the law firm that is is suspicious. What happened to her and her siblings and her aunt's estate is criminal IMO. I will be posting more details about this on my other blog: MOO (My Opinion Only). Let's just say that a will isn't any good in some cases.

Having said all this, I am hopeful that I can get back to several stories that have been gathering cyber dust, in the coming year.

After 2018 ArtFest

Well, here it is again that I've discovered how long it's been since I last wrote here.

Seems I've been super busy since retirement; so many things that need to be done and so little time. Or maybe I'm not doing so well with managing my time. My writing as taken a back seat to life.

I have been doing some reading and making afghans for family, and hats for cancer patients. And jotting down story ideas when they hit.

I recently attended the annual ArtFest in LaPlata, Maryland. It was a good day, but overcast and hot enough to get sun burn on my shoulders. I'm never sure how that happens as I spent most of my time under the canopy; except for trips to the restroom or food/drink vendor.

I'm happy to report that I had a repeat customer from last year. Gwen bought the first book in the Janie's Got series and was looking for the second one. I offered her a deal if she wanted to buy all three (Janie's Got is a four-book series), which she was happy to accept. 

I sold one Hooked to a member of our writing club.

One thing I'm not too happy about is that my Bugs on the Windshield isn't selling well. I was really excited by the idea when I wrote it; thought it was a unique (throw-back) concept of how it came about.

They ended the event a bit early so vendors could leave before the storm hit, which was good because the storm was a doozy.

OMG! My last post was March and it's now October.

I knew it had been a while since I posted here, but had no idea it had been that long.

It's been a busy summer. I've done a few events, one being the annual LaPlata Artfest, but mostly I've been taking care of things around the house, training and walking my German Shepherd pup, taking a gun course, visiting or helping nieces/nephews and/or parents.

I also had "kick back, put your feet up, and get lost in one of my books" trade-marked. Which means all new market material will have to have that added.

Still a lot to be done, however, I'm powering down on those for the winter and will get back to writing. Plus, researching other market venues. This is the type of thing one has to deal with when becoming an Indie writer. I love having control over my work, yet, when it comes to marketing and expanding my fanbase, I feel overwhelmed.

And, if I could afford to hire a maid, I'd have more time to dedicate to all of the above.

Nice! I notice that I've been writing this blog since 2009. I'll try to do better in 2018, on all accounts.

Janie's Is Out!

Hello Bloggers and Bloggetts.

It is official: Janie's Got It Good, book four is now on Amazon and Kindle. My order has arrived in time for my next events.

The first event will be at the Wade Community Center in Waldorf, MD., on April 1, 2017.

And, again this year, I'll be at the ArtFest in LaPlata, MD., on June 10th, from 11 - 5. Rain date: June 11. The ArtFest is a great event; they have musicians, crafts, arts, food, and so on.

Plus, this year I will be adding some art projects I did over the winter.

Each is a small canvas painting, which would add a bit of color to your book shelf or mantel during the Christmas holiday.

Put June 10th on your calendar and come out and see what there is to see.

Hello Everyone.

It's a new year and I'm still busy, mostly, still home projects.

The weather is warming fast; soon it'll be time to do yard work.

Haven't had many opportunities to do sales for Bugs on the Windshield. I hope to get back to the annual ArtFest in June. I've had good feedback on the book, which is a good feeling. Just wish I could get people to leave good comments on Amazon or wherever.

I've made a slight change to my website title, instead of just Books by I've added Kick Back Books (I did a search for any websites by that name and found none) by. I wanted something that would indicate the easy reading nature of my books. I've also added, "Kick Back, put your feet up, and get lost in one of my books", to further clarify.

I still have much to do, one being to finish Book 4 of Janie's Got series. The proofing has been done, I just need to make a few changes and then it'll be ready to go.
