Merry Christmas and a (almost) Happy New Year.

We had a wonderful time with family and the weather has been mild. Fingers crossed it stays that way into January and February, which tend to be our worst weather months.

Needless to say, it has been an interesting year. Now that the holiday preparations are over, and as soon as Christmas decorations are down and away, I can get back to working on stories waiting for my attention.

I'm happy to report that I have finished the first draft of Hooked Too, the sequel to Hooked. Over the next few days, while I'm off for a holiday break, I plan to go through and edit and add details where needed. If all goes well, I hope to have it out to the editor in January. I look forward to that so that I can get back to work on book 3 of the Janie's Got series.

There is a plan in the works for a possible Southern Maryland Book Festival in the fall of 2015. I want to have these two books finished before then so that they can be added to my inventory. I will have a lot to do before that to ensure I'm prepared for a big book event.

That is all on the update this time.

I hope you have a wonderful 2015.

Til next time.

The latest

Geez, I can't believe it's been so long since I posted here.

I took a mental vacation and am now getting back to my writing. I have recently redone the book covers on the Janie's Got series, books one and two (see below). It is a test to see if sales increase with the new look. I've gotten several opinions prior to resubmitting to the POD company. When approved, I will order one each to see how they look in the real world before actually ordering more.

I have been working on the Hooked sequel; taking breaks when I run into a mental block. This has pushed my schedule way behind. I had intended to release one more book this year, but it doesn't appear as if I will make it.

On November 22, 2014, I will do another Local Authors event at the Booknuts Book Store in White Plains, MD. This seems to be one of the few avenues I've had this year to actually market by books. If it wasn't for family and friends, I wouldn't be doing as well as I am.

I desperately want to get the Hooked sequel and Janie Three done so I can move on to several other stories waiting patiently on the back burner.

Till next time.

Local Events

I've been on a short break while Janie, Book 3 was with the editor, and I began working on the Hooked sequel.  Plus, I took the time to get some chores done around the house.

Janie, Book 3 is back from the editor. It has been set aside so that I can concentrate on the Hooked sequel. I hope to have that done and off to the editor before the end of the year.

Now I have two upcoming events planned. The first is this coming Saturday, July 12 from 11 - 2 at Booknuts Book Store in White Plains, MD. Besides myself, there will be at least two others from the Life Journeys Writers Club, and two others I'm not familiar with. The other is the Waldorf Library's Local Authors Reception, which is an annual event. Times will be 1 - 3 p.m on August 9.

Please stop by, chat with the local authors and offer encouragement. Even if you don't by our books, just having you come in and check us out, makes our day. Plus, Booknuts has a lot of books to browse through.

Hope to see you at one or both events.

Quick Update

Happy Memorial Day to everyone.

FYI - Janie's Got It Bad is off to the editor. Expecting to have it out in print by this fall.

Currently writing Hooked Two, a sequel to Hooked, in which Raina and Connor take a trip to Florida to visit Raina's mother, Betty. Can't give you more than that since it is a work in progress.

Will post snippets when I can.

Stand by for more.

Currently working on proofing Janie's Got It Bad - Book 3.

Books are ordered

Good news; after much editing and proofreading and more editing, I have finally placed an order for Witchy Tales: Gail Warning.  Even better news is that I already have several sales waiting in the wings.

I, however, am having problems getting the formatting right on all of the available readers on Kindle. Once I resolve this issue, the book will be available on Kindle. Then, I can get it ready for Barnes & Noble.

It seems I will be writing a sequel to Hooked, as I've had several requests for a sequel. That will happen after I get Janie's Got It Bad, book three of the Janie's Got series, edited. At least at that point, I will be able to concentrate on starting Hooked Two.

And, finally, once I get Witchy Tales fix on Amazon and B&N, I will be able to update my website with current information.

Til then.

Good news! I've uploaded and created a cover for Witchy Tales: Gail Warning, and ordered one proof.

This is the cover:

The back may change as I am still deciding on the wording for it (I had to make something up quickly as it was pushing onto 11 p.m. when I did it, which is way, way past my bedtime).

This is the story of four elderly witches who are the unofficial neighborhood watch group. The first story deals with would-be bank robbers. I have the stirrings of a second book and may start jotting down the concept for later. Next up is finishing Book 3 of the Janie's Got series. I'm anxious to get that in print this year.

Happy New Year - 2014

Well, it's hard to believe that it is now 2014.

It's been a busy year, but no so much in the writing department.

I have recently finished the first draft of Gail Warning - A Witchy Tale, and sent it off to my editor. Praying that I've learned enough with the last three books that I will not have much to change. Punctuation still seems to be my biggest problem. And reading other authors hasn't helped very much. It appears that, depending on the editor/publisher, rules on punctuation change. So, I work and hope my editor figures it out. And, because I publish my own works, I'm solely responsible for the content.

I guess that sounds like a disclaimer, which works for me.

Now that Gail Warning is in the hands of my editor, I have gone back to re-write Janie's Got It Bad - Book 3 of the Janie's Got series. In Janie 3, things are moving along between Janie and Aleck. She is still getting involve in helping him with his cases, while juggling her workload. Her best friend, Mil, is moving to town. And there's a new sheriff in town, who seems to have his eye on Janie.

If I can find more time to devote to it, I may be able to release it not long after Gail Warning. Then, I'll have to find marketing avenues to get them sold. I have a few ideas  and will try them out as time allows. I'm hoping that both books will be ready early in the year so that I can sign up again for their Local Authors even with BookNuts in White Plains.

Our club, Life Journeys Writers Club (LJWC), held their holiday party in Waldorf, and we had about 100 attendees. So, word is getting out about our club, which we hope in return gets word out about our books/works.

That's it for now. Fingers crossed and prayers sent that things will look up in my writing career. Only a couple more years before I retire, and hope that my writing career will help supplement my retirement income.

May YOUR New Year be safe, profitable, and bright!
